Life Skills programme is designed to improve a student's independence by giving them the skills and competence to live safely within their chose post college situation as they transition into independent or supported living. The curriculum covers Money Matters, - Coin recognition - Banking - Budgeting - Shopping Healthy Lifestyles, - Personal care - Exercise - Healthy eating - Health in general Advocacy - Rights and Housing - Self advocacy - Group advocacy - Right, including Consumer/Individual Housing issues - Independent - Supported - Shared - Group
Throughout the Life Skills course the opportunity to gain the skills needed for independent/support living is provided during every session. The course is extremely important for the students to gain a realistic view of what is expected once they leave full time education. The Living Skills curriculum provides the support in emotional and social needs of students as well as developing their individual Basic Skills in practical life situations.
