ImageThe two year Grounds Maintenance course gives student the opportunity to gain an understanding of the principles of Grounds Maintenance, their application and job roles. Sessions are split into theoretical and practical parts, introducing the students to both background knowledge and practical ground maintenance skills.

This includes information on seasonal maintenance of grassed, planted and paved areas etc., health and safety, job roles and the practical application including pruning, clearing, repair and the use of power tools. Grounds maintenance placements form part of the course and introduce students to the world of work, giving them the opportunity to experience work in a real-world context where they can develop work based skills and social skills in the wider environment. The course continues to embed basic skills and supports the students developing independent living skills. The course links to RARPA.
